Made in Poland project – what is it?
Promoting Poland, cultural awareness and community integration
Made in Poland is a cultural project which celebrates Polish culture in the North East of England. We organise and promote Polish or Polish-inspired art, film, music, dance, cuisine, literature, education and sport. Since 2008, every year around May we bring to our audiences a diverse and exciting programme of events. And although the programme in May is the highlight of the project, Made in Poland is an ongoing project which means that you can look out for information on our other events all year round.
Our aims
We hope to generate lots of fun, provide new experiences but also challenge some perceptions. Our aim is to strengthen the positive image of Poland as a dynamic and creative country. Also through encouraging participation in local activities, we help migrants in the North East to integrate with the local communities.
We are honoured to promote the well recognized Polish icons but we are also excited to show less known fresh talents.
We hope to create a platform to meet, talk, interact, exchange views and opinions and most of all make new friends and enjoy life in the North East.
At the moment most of our events take place in NewcastleGateshead area but we try to expand to other areas of the North East at every opportunity.
This year the programme combines film screenings, live music, photography and debate.
Join us!
We believe that partnership is the first step to success and successful integration. We like building bridges and making links with other festivals, cultural institutions, projects and individuals.
Made in Poland is totally managed by volunteers and we are always happy to welcome new people with new ideas and new energy :-)
We are constantly looking for performers and artists who would like to share their talents and get involved in the festival.
We appreciate all forms of help whether it is a comment, suggestion, a piece of advice, or financial support.
Do not hesitate to contact us!
