Saturday 25th June 8pm
Warsaw Village Band - A concert
The Sage Gateshead St Mary's Square, Gateshead Quays,
Gateshead, NE8 2JR
Described variously as 'hardcore folk', 'bio-techno' and 'Polish folk rock', Warsaw Village Band are far from purists. Formed to safeguard the tradition of Polish songs, they don’t shy away from other, world-wide, influences - hear hints of reggae, Indian raga and Swedish polka, alongside rock, hip-hop or the blues. Playing traditional acoustic instruments, including hurdy gurdys, hammered dulcimer and violin, mixed with electronica and the traditional loud and powerful Polish singing style, 'white voice'.
Tickets: £16.50 - £7.50 available online www.thesagegateshead.org
